The unincorporated town of Whiteclay, Nebraska, once labeled the “Skid Row of the Plains” by local journalists, is no longer allowed to serve beer. But Whiteclay activists continue to advocate for increased enforcement efforts to curb bootlegging and a cold-case unit to investigate Whiteclay’s unsolved murders.
Whiteclay, Nebraska, before the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission voted to close the stores effective April 30, 2017.
